Shrouded by greenery, with the cool air and peace that comes with being so high up above the city, The Peak is a favourite among Hong Kong residents.
Not to mention truly spectacular, panoramic views over Victoria Harbour, Kowloon and beyond, it?s no wonder that this walk along Lugard Road and Harlech Road which rings around the peak (more than 400m above sea level) and forms part of the Hong Kong trail, is not only a favourite of morning joggers and dog walkers, but with visitors and long-term residents of all ages.
Start/end: The Peak (Lugard Road)
Distance: 3.5 kilometres
Duration: 1 hour
How to get there: From Central, you can either take bus number 15 up to the Peak, or take the iconic Peak Tram.
When you reach the Peak, find the start of Lugard Road (behind the Tram terminus) and start walking. The walk is flat, paved and circular, so you?ll find it hard to get lost and should end where you started.
For those looking to stop for lunch en-route, there is a garden with a picnic area and toilets at the junction with Hatton Road.
If you haven?t got to rush off after your walk, why not grab a seat in Pacific Coffee and wait around until it gets dark to see the city light up.
